The moment the clock struck midnight on Nov 1, Mariah Carey made it official: IT’S TIME! 🎄
This year’s “It’s Time” video has a twist nobody saw coming. It starts in New York City on Oct 31 with a countdown at 11:58 PM, then heads into a dive bar for a punk rock show. There’s Mariah on stage in punk gear and colorful makeup, singing “Hermit.” That’s a deep cut from Someone’s Ugly Daughter, the mid-’90s album she secretly made with her friend Clarissa Dane under the band name Chick. She didn’t reveal she was part of it until her 2020 memoir!
After a stage dive, the screen crashes into a winter wonderland. Mariah turns up as the topper on a giant Christmas tree, hits the whistle note on “It’s time,” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” begins. Halloween’s over, everybody! 🎅

Now for the chart twist. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” held the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with 22. This year, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” took that record and now has 25 weeks at the top. Mariah’s song hit No. 1 for four weeks in both 2024 and 2025, so she could win it back if Ella doesn’t add more weeks in November. Get ready for a Queen of Christmas vs. Queen of Country showdown! 👑🤠
