OK something is wrong with the stream...

After playing #31 (Fly Away), they began playing the show again from the beginning, but skipping the actual songs. As in, Rick would say, "and here's #39, Genie In A Bottle...." and then would say "and that was Genie In A Bottle, and next at #38....."

What gives?

Just a general note: I have found that the Firefox doesn't like the player for some reason so I have been using IE.

However, this show is messed up. I skipped Hour 1 Part 5 and things seemed to get better.

It's hard to believe all these songs were popular 10 years ago! I feel so old... this was the summer after 9th grade!

But then again, music has changed so much since then. Look at this list of songs from '99. Not a single hip hop song. In fact Will Smith is the only rap song! Compares to current music, that song seems pure pop. And the only other urban/R&B songs listed are TLC, Brandy and K-Ci & JoJo...again so pop.

Back then it was all pop/rock or teen pop....plus the latin songs for those few months. Sure I love the occasional hip hop track, but Top 40 radio in the late '90s was way better.

Looking back, it's unbelievable how music changed in just 4 years....compare 1999 to 2003! In fact, things have gotten a bit better now that the 2000s have ended. But I don't think we'll ever get back to the way Top 40 radio was during '96-'99. Thanks for the memories, Rick! :)

It is a shame how music has changed form the fun filled Guitar pop rock to the hip hop dribble of today. It all seems so fake unless you get your occasional Nickelback and daughtry tunes. man, I sure miss the 90s
