INGREDIENTS
CRUST:
Purchase one Betty Crocker Pie Crust Mix (in the red box). Follow the directions for a TWO crust pie, but here's the Dees secret: Add 1/4 cup of butter (NOT margarine.) softened, almost melted, into the mix before you add the 1/3 cup of ice water. Put in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
PEACH FILLING:
3 full cups of fresh, ripe peaches
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
3 level tablespoons of all purpose flour
1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
Lightly flour the pie crust, roll it out, place in a large pie plate, and save enough crust to make a lattice strip covering of crust for the top of your pie.
Mix the peaches and all of the other peach filling ingredients together in a large bowl.
Pour this mixture into the pie shell. (If any is left over, save it for an ice cream topping!) Put the strips of pie crust over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Let it cool down, but serve warm.
ENJOY!
