Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies
Here's a new take on an American classic! Brown sugar and whole wheat flour with the chocolate chips keep them ever so moist and deliciously tasty for the whole family!
Yields: 3 dozen large or 5 dozen small cookies
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 to 14 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup (2 sticks) butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups whole wheat flour (I always use King Arthur)
2 cups oats, regular or quick
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup milk
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins
1 cup chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350.
Cream butter and the sugars together well. Beat in the vanilla and eggs until light.
Mix flour, oats, salt, baking powder and soda together. Mix in the chopped nuts, raisins and chocolate chips.
Add about 1 cup of the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Blend in the milk and then the rest of the dry ingredients.
Drop the batter from a tablespoon or teaspoon (depending on whether you want 3 dozen large or 5 dozen small cookies) onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake from 10 to 14 minutes.
Serve warm, right out of the oven.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
