Aunt Mary's Special Pumpkin Pie
Aunt Mary had a way with pies...and here's one of her favorites!
Yields: One 9-inch pie

INGREDIENTS
Crust:
1-9 inch pie crust
(Use the Dees' Foolproof Pie Crust Recipe)
Pumpkin Custard Mixture:
3/4 + cup of sugar
15 ounces (ONE CAN) pumpkin (About 2 cups)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon grond cloves
2 large eggs beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 Dees-grees.
For crust:
The Dees Foolproof Pie Crust Recipe makes enough dough for a double crust. We recommend your making the full recipe and freezing half for future use.
Filling:
Mix salt,sugar,cinnamon,nutmeg,ground cloves. Then, mix in pumpkin. Add beaten eggs,vanilla
extract and butter.
Bake:
Bake at 400 Dees-grees for about 10 minutes. Turn down to 350 and bake for an additional
30 minutes. Test by sticking a knife into the pie 1 inch from the edge of the crust. Pie is done when inserted knife comes out clean.
