As we reported previously we had gotten word that Alec Baldwin was going to take his skills to Broadway and we were correct!

From one “Rock” to another… “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin has signed on for Adam Shankman’s upcoming big screen version of Broadway musical “Rock of Ages.”

A very excited Adam Shankman Tweeted on Saturday, announcing the casting news:

“Can’t wait to start #rockofagesmovie,” he later added. “Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Mary j Blige, Tom cruise confirmed. I love my cast. More to come.”

A rep for Alec confirmed the casting announcement to Access Hollywood on Sunday.

Gotta love that man!
